South Arkansas Arts Center
We believe that the arts have a profound impact on the health of a community. The arts bring joy and comfort, hope and healing, intellect and interest, good vibes and self-esteem, just to name a few - all of which are attributes of healthy people who collectively unite for a healthy community. Murphy-Pitard supports the Arts Center by sponsoring one theatre production each season. The sponsorship includes both direct financial support and the donation of a custom designed jewelry item to be auctioned off at the event, with all proceeds benefiting the SAAC.
The South Arkansas Arts Center, or SAAC, is a complete visual and performing arts center that includes three gallery spaces, a ballet studio, a 207 seat theatre, a scene and costume shop, classrooms, a photography studio, and offices all of which provide AIE residencies, monthly gallery exhibits, community theatre productions, classes in visual arts, ballet, photography, drama, and music for people of all ages and people with special needs. “We have a talented community,” said SAAC’s Executive Director “and our expectations, and that of the community, are very high.”
